Time-dependent decision support system for tourism service industry
Abstract:
The tourism service sector is highly significant for a countrys economy especially in Thailand. Many tourism researches have been studied and developed to suggest attractive places. However, when covering seasonality and continuity of
services, it seemed to be incomplete. This paper proposes a new decision support system model to serve the tourism service industry by focusing on both factors. Moreover, the algorithm model management is enhanced by applying mining
techniques to recommend tourism places. After successful implementation, the process of evaluation was undertaken. The classification accuracy of the system was measured by 10-fold cross validation and also user satisfaction towards the system
was measured via questionnaires. The evaluation result showed that Naive Bayes tree (NBTree) classifier was
recommended by this study for its higher accuracy when compared to the basic Decision Tree algorithm. User satisfaction was evaluated by 10 experts and 10 users, the level of satisfaction result was Good.
