Abstract:
The objective of this master project is to evaluate quantitatively the evaporative of benzene
oil form two storage thank types of storage tanks are fixed roof tank storage and internal floating
roof tank storage. Defined the quantities of evaporative losses as storage tank, properties of
benzene and transmitted to storage. To defined the standing storage losses and working losses
Master project results is the total losses form fixed roof tank more than total losses form
internal floating roof tank is defined form benzene transmitted to tank 86,137,435 liters per year
and losses 189,840 liters per year or losses 2,203.9 liters per million liters per year, losses form
internal storage tank 6,668 liters form total transmitted benzene oil 90,330,158 liters per year. The
volatile organic compounds (VOC) loss form fixed loss 96 percent, loss form internal floating
loss 4 percent
The comparative of the evaporative losses of benzene oil form fixed roof tank and internal
floating roof tank indicated the different of losses. To reduce the product losses and reduce VOC
is necessary to modification of the fixed roof storage tank into internal floating storage tank IRR
47%>MARR 6.375% and ROI is 2 year and 10 month. For a new storage tank the internal
floating roof tank is recommended IRR 12.93%>MARR 6.375%.
