Abstract:
Recent works performed on the creep behavior of thermoplastic nanocomposites have been surveyed. Incorporation of nano-scaled fillers decreased the compliance, as expected. On the other hand, contradicting results are available on the creep rates of the nanocomposites. This may be linked to the experimental conditions affecting the viscoelastic response of the specimens (linear, non-linear). Based on present knowledge, recommendations are given on how to get a deeper understanding of the structure-property relationship in creep.
