Abstract:
This research study aims to analyze for reducing the loss of steam from the steam trap
device that installation outside of factory for petro chemical group. In a year that they was
purchased the steam 963,203 tons per year value are 979,436,838 baht and they was loosed in a
year was 100,782 tons or 10.46%. The study found the steam loosed from the device of
thermodynamic steam trap by the head was quick temperature changed made that device losses or
atmospheric temperature change by raining.
As the experimental that found the thermodynamics stream trap 10 each from working of
513 each in working area was no losses. In the past that the thermodynamic steam trap losses in
system losses 17,801,800 Baht per year. The percentage of losses is 2.5%
For the investment value of improvement steam trap system thermodynamic to
thermostatic steam trap for high pressure steam is 15,225,000 Baht per year and medium pressure
steam is 24,336,000 baht per year. As analyzed payback period for high pressure steam is 1 year
and 9 month and for medium pressure steam is 2 year and 8 month. For analyzed the percentage
of IRR for high pressure steam is 49.34% and medium pressure steam is 25.495% while the
MARR is 6.375%
