The sample group consisted of 132 teachers and administrators who were working in the Islamic private secondary schools. Questionnaires were used to collect the data. The statistics employed to analyse the collected data included frequency, means, S.D, and t-test.
The results of the study revealed :
1. The overall level of performance of the Islamic private schools was found to be moderate. The area of performance which was ranked highest was found to be personnel administration, followed by academics administration. The area of finance administration was found to be the lowest.
2. The teachers and administrators of different working background and position did not differ in opinions about the personnel administration of the schools.
3. Problems found were that most of the administrators did not understand the academic system of the schools. They should visit other schools and learn from them. The administrators should select the teachers based on the needs of the schools and support their teachers both in their work and their safety. The teachers should be informed about school information and budget allocation. The community and alumni of the schools should be encouraged to participate in the school activities.
