Abstract:
The Master project study aims to reduction losses in Hard Disk Drive assembly process.
Case study Fujitsu (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Purpose of this study for find out direction to reduce
defect or waste in assembly process. The type of waste material occurred most is cover damaged.
The study found that the factor of waste generating are from machine in production,
worker lack of knowledge, method and material. The researcher applies quality control concept
for analyze the root cause and settle for standard working in order to control quality.
The result of this study to adjust assembly process more efficient and also to reduce the
amount of waste material. The study found that there were 63,333 pieces of waste material from
total average amount of Hard Disk Drive 3,825,167 pieces before adjusting the assembly process.
The ratio of waste material is equal 1.66%. While after adjusting assembly process 46,336 pieces
of waste material found from the total average of 3,799,726 pieces Hard Disk Drive. The ratio of
waste material is equal to 1.22%. Then it is obviously showed that the ratio of waste material after
being adjust assembly process has reduced 26.51% and can reduced cost generated from waste
material 2,850,091 Baht which in the target.
