Abstract:
In Thailand, hydroponic has been experimented for many years, but only for scientific
experiments. Due to the high investment cost and complexity of plant feeding such as adjusting
the composition of chemicals and maintaining pH level of liquid solution for plant feeding that is
very important and sensitive to plant growth. Farmers need to carefully monitor the quality of the
solution. In recent years, due to the high demand of food around the World, hydroponics has
been very popular in recent years especially in Thailand for food export. In addition, the fast
increasing popularity of healthy and non-toxic nutrition has increased the demand of food and
vegetable from hydroponic process. Many efforts are trying to increase the supply capability and
also reducing the investment cost such that low-class farmers can invest in hydroponic farming.
This thesis aims to reduce the cost of time and labor for the solution monitoring, and importantly,
to develop the commercial agricultural system. This proposes design and implementation of
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) connected with pH module for acid and base property
measurement. The system consists of TelosB wireless sensor node running TinyOS operation
system. This system measures and records the pH level of the chemical solution in a database, and
the recorded results can be displayed using Web technology.
