Abstract:
The air pollution is an environment problem which effect to the healthiness of people
residence in urban area such as smell, annoyance, the disease about respiratory system,
cardiovascular and lungs etc. The vehicles travels on the public road are the air pollution sources.
The main pollutants are the carbon monoxide gas, sulphur dioxide gas, ozone, lead and dust. The
air quality measurement of the Pollution Control Department, Ministry of Science, Technology
and Environment consist of the automatic air pollution measurement station located in the general
area, the semi-permanent air pollution measurement sub station located in the roadside area and
the temporary air pollution measurement is mobile unit which only be used in Bangkok area.
For this thesis present the on-road carbon monoxide monitoring using wireless sensor
network, TinyOS, carbon monoxide gas sensor and tmote sky module. The result of this thesis
can detect and measured the carbon monoxide gas and verify the result by using the reactor bottle
and pure carbon monoxide gas 99.9999%. The observed data from measuring can collect into the
database follow as the condition. The web page can show the level of carbon monoxide gas as a
line graph follows the type of level and duration time.
