Abstract:
This research is a descriptive issue to intended on surveying the opinions of administrators,
lecturers, students, employees (graduated students in computer curriculum) and employers with
these proposes : 1) To study the instruction circumstances of the ethics for computer curriculum
in higher education in the present. 2) To study the ethical requirement for computer curriculum in
higher education and 3) To study the guidelines for the development of the ethics for computer
curriculum in higher education in the future.
The samples are administrators, lecturers, students, employees (graduated students in
computer curriculum) and employers in Bangkok and the vicinity for 468 samples. The tools are
the questionnaire and interview about the instruction circumstances, the 4-level general ethical
behaviors and problem conditions and the 2-level ethic for computer professionals. The statistical
parameters for analyzing are frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The results of this research have been clarified that there are 48 computer curriculums in
Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degrees, 16 curriculums purposing about ethics for students and
4 curriculums containing ethical subjects. The most of lecturers infiltrate the ethical contents.
(22 persons, 68.75%) that is the unofficially instruction. (18 persons) Three instruction methods
in priority are 1) Bringing the point at issues of daily news form television or newspaper for discussing in the class. 2) Giving the case studies to analyze and 3) Exemplifying the case of
senior students or lecturers. The most of evaluations are not contain the ethical test (19 persons,
59.38%).
The general ethical requirement for computer curriculum from lecturers 's opinions
indicating that the general ethical behavior and problem conditions are in medium level. This
shows that it is required more development. While, from employees 's opinions indicating that the
general ethical behavior and problem conditions are in high level. This shows that it is required
to preserve.
The general ethical requirement for computer professionals from lecturers 's opinions
indicating that the ethical instruction circumstances of computer professionals are in medium
level. This shows that it is required more development. While, from employees 's opinions
indicating that the general ethical behavior for professionals of computer graduated students are
in high level. This shows that it is required to preserve.
The guidelines for the development of the ethics in computer curriculum with instruction at
least one subject in bachelor degree as Computer Ethics. This course should be contained the
statements of computer illegality. The instruction with infiltrating the ethics is required through
the study time of students. Moreover, at least one activity for society is required for improving the
students moral mind.
