Abstract:
This study is to determine perception of hazardous working condition and safety
practice of construction workers in gas station. The samples in this study compose of
70 construction workers from gas station construction sites. Based on the data
collected, it is found that the workers had good basic knowledge and perception of
hazardous working condition on chemical and psychosocial. Meanwhile, the perception
on physical environment is moderate. The safety practice of construction workers is
good regarding to general environment, confine spaces and excavation. The safety
practice of them on electrical system, machinery, equipment and scaffold are moderate.
It was found that workers who have higher safety practices have good basic knowledge
and perception of hazardous working. This study have proposed a training manual for
strengthening more on the basic knowledge and perception of hazardous working
condition of workers in order to increase the level of safety practice at gas station
construction.
