Abstract:
The objective of this independent study were to study the behaviors wich affected the students learning achievement of The first year students at University of Phayao in 2012, and compare the six behaviors which are 1) motivations and attitudes to learning, 2) the allocation of time to review, preparation and strategies of learning, 3) the relationship with friends, 4) the concentration and anxiety in the classroom, 5) the leisure activities and, 6) the way of preparing before the test,that affected the students learning achievement, by classifying the GPA (grade point average) in the first Semester of the academic year 2012. The target group were 357 First year Students of University of Phayao in 2012. The instruments used for this independent study were questionnaires which consisted of 3 parts; Part I is the background Information by finding the Percentage as statistical analysis, Part II is the opinions on 6 behaviors which affected the students learning achievement. This part was analyzed into two steps; first is finding the mean ( ) and standard deviation (S.D.) of the 6 behaviors, second is analysing the differences between the 6 behavior by classified the GPA and use One Way ANOVA as the statistical analysis. Part III is the problems and the suggestions. The findings showed that three aspects of positive behavior which were 1) Motivation and Attitude towards Learning, 2) Allocation of Time for Revision, Preparation and Techniques Used in the Study, and 3) Relationship with Classmates affected the students learning achievement invariably; on the other hand, the other aspects which were 1) Concentration and Anxiety, 2) Leisure Activities, and 3) Test Analyzing and Preparation had an effect on the students learning achievement identified by P value whichis statistically significantat 0.048, 0.000, and 0.000 respectively.
