Abstract:
The objectives of this survey research were to study the relationship between health promotion behavior of students at Asia-Pacific International University and predisposing factors i.e. knowledge, attitude, perceived health benefits and perceived barriers of health promotion, enabling factors, i.e., perceived policy of health promotion and health resources and the reinforcing factors, i.e., source of information and guidance from personnel in health promotion behavior. The correspondents were 410 students selected by simple random sampling method from the population of 856 students studying at Asia-Pacific International University, academic year 2010. Questionnaires developed by the researcher were used to collect the data and percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were employed for data analysis. The results show that the health promotion behavior of students at Asia-Pacific International University was classified in good level. Health promotion behavior of students at Asia-Pacific International University was positively and significantly relative to knowledge, attitude, perceived health benefits, perceived policy of health promotion, health resources and source of information and guidance from personnel in health promotion behavior at the level of .01 while it was found negatively and significantly related to perceived barriers of health promotion at the level of .01.
