An ability in English listening for communication of prathom suksa six students in schools under the jurisdiction of The Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Primary Education
Abstract:
Purposes The purposes of this research were: 1.To study an ability in English Listening for Communication of Prathom Suksa Six students in schools under the jurisdiction of the office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Privincial Primary Education. 2.To compare an ability in English Listening for Communication of Prathom Suksa Six students in the large size schools, the middle size schools and the small size schools under the jurisdiction of the office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Primary Education. Procedures The samples of this research were 176 Prathom Suksa Six students studying in the third semester of academic year 1985 in the large size schools, the middle size schools and the small size schools under the jurisdiction of the office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Primary Education. The samples were selected by means of Multi-Stage Sampling . The instrument used in this research was a set of an ability in English Listening for Communication tests which comprised of the answering questions ability test, the dictation ability test, the practicing according to the instruction ability test and the conversation ability test. After they were tried out and improved, they were used with the samples. The data were statistically analyzed by using arithmetic mean, standard deviation, mean of percentage, percentage, one-way analysis of variance and Scheffe test. Results 1.The mean of percentage of students ability in English Listening for Communication were 40.17 which is equivalent to the learning achievement level 1 of evaluation standard of the Educational Technique Department. 2.There was significant difference of ability in English Listening for Communication between the students in the large size schools, the middle size schools and the small size schools at the .05 level, and it was indicated that 2.1 The ability in English Listening for Communication of the students in the large size schools and the middle size schools were higher than the students in the small size schools at the .05 level. 2.2 The ability in English Listening for Communication of the students in the large size schools and the middle size schools were not significant difference at the .05 level.
