Abstract:
Purpose of the Study 1.To study the level of job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers. 2.To Compare job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers according to different variables of six, years in government work, educational degree, birthplace and geographical region of work. Procedure of Research and Data Analysis The sample that was used in this research was 800 provincial officers in the Non-Formal Education Centers, who have had at least 6 month of work experience from 50 Non-Formal Education Centers. The research instrument used in this research was a questionnaire about the opinions of the officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers which included 12 motivation and hygiene factor of Frederick Herzbergs theory. About 7 questions of the questionnaire were check-list and blank to fill word, and about 60 question were rating-scale and open-ended. The questionnaires were constructed and sent to 50 Non-Formal Education Center by post and some were collected by the researcher. Seven hundred and fifty-seven were returned, but only seven hundred and thirty-seven or 92.13 percents. The obtained data were then analyzed in terms of percentages means and standard derivations. The t-test and One-way Analysis of Variance were also employed to determine the level of significant difference. The difference between various groups were tested by Schaffer Multiple Range test. All data were analyzed by using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSSX) and calculator. Research Finding 1.The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers which were considered of the good level were: job security and responsibility. However, security in governmental work, achievement, interpersonal relationship among peers, advancement, nature of work, recognition, working conditions, interpersonal relationship with superiors, policy and administration and the salary and fringe benefits, were at the middle level. 2.The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers between male and female were significantly different at the .05 level on recognition, nature of work, advancement, the salary and fringe benefits, interpersonal relationship among peers, working conditions, job security and security in governmental work. Considering the mean of job satisfaction, it was found that job satisfaction of male was higher than job satisfaction of female. 3.The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-formal Education Centers between those officers who had worked 6 months to 4 years and those who had worked for over 4 years, were significantly different at the .05 level on achievement, working conditions and security in governmental work. Considering the mean of job satisfaction, it was found that job satisfaction of officers who had worked for over 4 years were higher than those officers who had worked 6 months to 4 years. The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers between those who had degrees lower than a Bachelors degree and those who had a Bachelors degree were significantly different at the .05 level on recognition, nature of work, responsibility, advancement, working conditions and job security. Considering the mean of job satisfaction, it was found that job satisfaction of officers who hold a Bachelors degree were higher than those who hold a degree lower than Bachelors degree. 5.The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers between those who worked in their birthplace and those who worked in other town were significantly different at the .05 level on interpersonal relationship among peers and working conditions. Considering the mean of job satisfaction, it was found that job satisfaction of those who worked in their birthplace were higher than those who worked in other town. 6.The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers who worked in the North region, the North-Eastern region, the Central region and the Southern region of Thailand were as followed: 6.1The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers from all four groups were significantly different at the .05 level on achievement. Testing the difference between pair of groups found that there was not enough evidence to conclude that it was significantly different at the .05 level. 6.2The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers from all groups were significantly different at the .05 level on policy and administration. Testing the different between pair of groups found that there was not enough evidence to conclude that it was significantly different at the .05 level. 6.3The job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers form all four groups were significantly different at the .05 level on security in governmental work. Testing the different between pair of groups found that the job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers between the North-Eastern region and the Central region, and between the South region and the Central region were significantly different at the .05 level. Considering the mean of job satisfaction, it was found that job satisfaction of officers who worked in the north-Eastern region and in the Southern region were higher than those who worked in the Central region. 6.3.1The difference between job satisfaction of officers in Provincial Non-Formal Education Center who worked in the North-Eastern region and those who worked in the Central region in the area of security in governmental work was tested by using the t-test to test the variables of six, year in government work, educational degree and birthplace. It was found that all the variables were significantly different at the .05 level. Considering the mean of job satisfaction it was found that job satisfaction of male and female who worked in the North-Eastern region were higher than those who worked in the Central region. Job satisfaction of officers who worked 6 months to 4 years and who worked overed 4 years worked in the North-Eastern region were higher than those who worked 6 months to 4 years and and those who worked overs 4 years, worked in the Central region. Job satisfaction of officers who had degree lower than a Bachelors degree and those who had a Bachelor s degree, worked in the North-Eastern region were higher than those who had degree lower than a Bachelors degree and those who had a Bachelors degree, worked in the Central region. Job satisfaction of officers who worked in their birthplace and those who worked in other town, worked in the North-Eastern region, were higher than those who worked in their birthplace and those who worked in other town, worded in the Central region. It showed that apart from being significantly different among the regions, it was still significantly different among the variables in sex, years in government work, educational degree and birthplace. 6.3.2The difference between job satisfaction of officers in the Provincial Non-Formal Education Centers who worked in the Southern region and those who worked in the Central region in the area of security in governmental work was tested by using t-test to test the variables of sex, years in government work, educational degree and birthplace. It was found that the variables were significantly different at the .05 level. Considering the mean of job satisfaction, it was found that job satisfaction of male who worked in the Southern region was higher than female who worked in the Central region. Job satisfaction of officers who had worked over 4 years, worked in the Southern region were higher than those who had worked 6 months to 4 years, worked in the Central region. Job satisfaction of officers who had degree lower than a Bachelors degree and those who had a Bachelors degree worked in the Southern region, were higher than those who had degree lower than a Bachelor s degree and those who had a Bachelors degree worked in the Southern region, Job satisfaction of officers who worked in their birthplace and those who worked in other town, worked in the Southern region were higher than those who worked in their birthplace and those who worked in other town, worked in the Central region. It showed that apart from being significantly different among the regions, it was still significantly different among the variables in sex, years in government work, educational degree and birthplace.
