Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to compare the nurses satisfaction on the scheduling between eight-hour shift and ten-hour shift. The selected samples were 60 nurses who worked at surgical department, Swan Pracharak Hospital, Nakornswan. The instrument was the questionnaire which developed by Teimsorn Tongsawadi and modified by researcher. The samples were devided in to two groups to work eight-hour shift and ten-hour shift schedule on male and female surgical departments for 2 months. The major findings are as follows: Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and analysis of the t-test were used to analyze the collected data. 1. The nurses satisfactions on the scheduling between eight-hour shift and ten-hour shift were at moderate level. There was no statistically significant difference in the total satisfaction among nurses on eight-hour shift and ten-hour shift at the .05 level, thus the hypothesis "the difference of the total satisfaction among nurses on eight-hour shift and ton-hour shift" was rejected. 2. There was satistically significant difference in the satisfactions on job and job's characteristic among nurses on eight-hour shift and ten-hour shift at the .05 level, there fore the hypothesis "the satisfactions of nurses on ten-hour shift is higher than eight-hour shift in the satisfaction of job, job's. Characteristic, human relation and environmental" was rejected.
