Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to use extra curricular activities based on Carl Orffs theory to develop music and drama skills of primary students, and 2) to compare the achievement of students music and drama skills taught by the application of Carl Orff to extra curricular activities and the controlled group.
The samples were 60 students rat Rattanakosin 9 School and Khaha Bang Plee (Sip-Pee-Sor-Por-Chor School) who were in the dancing club. All students were studying in the second semester of the Academic year 2012. These students were selected via random sampling. These students were divided into two groups of 30, the experimental and the control groups. The instrument used were 1) music and drama activities 2) the music and drama test, 3) Music and drama exercises. The data were analysed by using Means, Standard Diviation and ANCOVA.
The results were as follows: 1) the achievement test result of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the controlled group, 2) students scores of music and drama skills taught through the application of the Carl Orff theory were significantly higher than those from the control group at 0.05.
