Abstract:
This cross-section study explored factors related to body mass index of village leaders of village leader in Kon Mae-ai ri poong terd tai ongrachun project at Mae Ai district, Chiang Mai province. One hundred sixty two samples were selected by purposive sampling technique which divided into eighty one cases and eighty one controls. Data were collected during February to march, 2012. Instruments consisted of a set of questionnaires question which verified content validity by experts and reliability were 0.76. Data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistics and Binary Logistic Regression. The results shown that total of health behavior, perceived susceptibility and were and perceived barrier moderate (x̄=3.17, S.D.=0.35; x̄=3.37, S.D.=0.51 and x̄=3.04, S.D.=0.29).Whereas perceived severity and perceived benefits were high level (x̄=3.86, S.D.=0.69 and x̄=3.91, S.D.=0.81).Factors significantly affected body mass index were age (odds ratio=0.941, 95%CI=0.901-0.983) and perceived behavior (odds ratio=0.715, 95%CI=0.363-1.409). The result of this study should be used to encourage health belief in order to change behavior people in the area study.
