A Study of Learning Results of Computer Assisted Instruction on Introduction to Classical Dancing unit in General Education of Phuket Rajabhat University
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to compare learning achievement of introduction to classical dancing unit of undergraduates at Phuket Rajabhat University of the experimental group taught by computer assisted instructional (CAI) lesson plans and control group using regular lesson plans, and to study undergraduates attitudes toward CAI lesson plans. The populations of this research were undergraduates at Phuket Rajabhat University who studied introduction to classical dancing unit, and the samples of this research were undergraduates at Phuket Rajabhat University in the second semester of academic year of 2011. The two classes were selected by mean of purposive sampling as an experimental group using CAI lesson plans and a control group using regular lesson plans.Research instruments for collecting data were 1) 5 experimental learning lesson plans using CAI which focused on 5 sub-units ; (1) an introduction to classical dancing, (2) non-story show (3), story show, (4) dancing vocabulary and dancing body language, and (5) western dancing, 2) regular lesson plans, 3) a 60 item multiple choice test of introduction to classical dancing unit with a difficulty index between .23-.70, discrimination between .22-.86 and reliability at. .938 and 4) an attitudes test with reliability at .857 Data were analyzed by t-test and ANCOVA.The findings revealed that learning achievement of introduction to classical dancing unit of the undergraduates at phuket Rajabhat University taught by CAI lesson plans after studying was higher significantly at the .01 level, learning of achievement of introduction to classical dancing unit of the undergraduates taught by CAI lesson plans was higher than those taught by regular lesson plans at the .01 level of significance, and undergraduates had good attitudes towards at CAI lesson plans the .01 level of significance.
