Abstract:
The purposes of this Independent study were to study factors affecting learning achievement of the First year Students at University of Phayao and to study correlation between factors affecting learning achievement of the First year Students at University of Phayao. The target group of this Independent study was 357 First year Students who enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2011 at University of Phayao. The data were collected using questionnaires which consisted of three parts: Part I Background Information, Part II Opinion on factors affecting learning achievement-used two steps analyzing data that was Step 1 used rating scale to analyze opinion level of factors affecting learning achievement. Percentage, mean and standard deviation were used to analyze data collected. Step 2 Multiple Regression Analysis was used to analyze correlation between nine factors affecting learning achievement to test the hypothesis of the study and Part III Problems and suggestions. The study found that factors affecting learning achievement were learning behavior, learners expectations and learning environment with respectively β: .20, .13 and .12. Learning achievement was predicted by these factors at 12.1 % with significance 0.05.
