The relationship between happiness in workplace and organizational Commitment of Royal Thai Air Force officers in directorate of education and training department
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the level of happiness in workplace of Royal Thai Air Force officers in Directorate of Education and Training Department, 2) to study the level of organizational commitment of Royal Thai Air Force officers in Directorate of Education and Training Department, and 3) to study the relationship between happiness in workplace and organizational commitment of Royal Thai Air Force officers in Directorate of Education and Training Department.
The population was consisted of 866 officers who were working at Royal Thai Air Force in Directorate of Education and Training Department. The Krejcie. R. & D.W. Morgan method has been used for determining the sample of 269 officers who were working in the above department. Data was collected through the questionnaire which inquired about eight aspects of happiness in workplace such happy body, happy heart, happy relax, happy brain, happy soul, happy money, happy family, and happy society and three aspects of organizational commitment such a strong belief in and acceptance of the organizations goals and values, a willingness to exert considerable effort on behalf of the organization and, a strong desire to maintain membership in an organization which had a reliability index of 0.9580.The statistical analysis was percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one way ANOVA, Fishers Least Significant Difference (LSD) and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient.
The results of this research found that
1. The majority of the sample group were male, aged over 51 years old, married, held a bachelors degree, monthly income range from 10,000 to 30,000 baht, working experienced ran from 21 to 30 years, classifier position as commissioned officer, and working as teaching section.
2. Overall, the level of happiness in workplace of Royal Thai Air Force Officers in Directorate of Education and Training Department, was found at high level. The happy family as for the happiness in workplace was found at the highest mean.
3. Overall, the level of organizational commitment of Royal Thai Air Force Officers in Directorate of Education and Training Department, was found at high level. The willingness to exert considerable effort on behalf of the organization was found as the highest mean.
4. The individual factors of Royal Thai Air Force Officers in Directorate of Education and Training with a different age, status, monthly income, working period, and classifier position had a difference organizational commitment, except for gender, level of education, job description responsibility, at the significant level of .05.
5. Overall, the relationship between happiness in workplace and organizational commitment of Royal Thai Air Force officers in Directorate of Education and Training Department, were found positively, at the significant level of .05.
