The development for strengthened community management corresponding to sufficiency economy in the upper central provinces of Thailand / วิทยา จันทร์แดง
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were (1) to study the effectiveness of the implementation of policies Corresponding to the philosophy of sufficiency Economy that are intended to strengthen communities capacity in the upper central provinces of Thailand, (2) to study the application of the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy to strengthen the communities and (3) to create a model for the development for community capacity management corresponding to the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy. The qualitative research method was used, employing documentary study, in-depth interviews with 23 key informants, focus group techniques and non-participant observation to gather data.
The findings of this research were as follows:
1) Implementation of the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy has been undertaken to strengthen community capacities in the region by strengthening the capacity of community organizations, promoting participation, and encouraging community knowledge management and learning.
2) The process of applying the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy to community capacity management, included employment, resource management and development has been undertaken and
3) The new model based on this research was an integrated model for community management consistent with Sufficiency Economy.
The new knowledges derived from this research were as follows: (1) in order to support a strong community, the tripartite participation of community organizations, government organizations and other supportive organizations should be encouraged, (2) a supportive system for community capacity management that includes knowledge, village information systems and relation systems should be created and (3) the approach to create a strong community capacity should include rehabilitation of communies, the adaptation of communies and strategies for maintaining the existence of the communies.
