Abstract:
There has been lately a favourable trend of the prevalence of initial
and acquired MDR-TB in Thailand. The preliminary result of the
clinical study of 18 months-regimen ofloxacin (600 mg per day)
combination on 22 MDR-TB patients, with follow-up of maximum
one-year resulted the conversion rate of 85% at 12 month and a
success rate of 78%. This regimen is well tolerated by patients and
is without major side effects.
