Abstract:
A total of 761 stool samples from children of six primary schools in
Amphoe Muang, Prachin Buri were examined for intestinal helminths
using cellophane-covered thick smear technique. Two-hundred and
twenty of the 761 children (28.9%) were found to be infected with
the parasites. Hookworm infection is the most prevalent (28.4%),
followed by opisthorchiasis (1.0%), strongyloidiasis (0.9%),
trichuriasis (0.5%), and enterobiasis (0.4%), all being light infections
