The study of needs for competency development of the administrators and teachers to determine the reference prices of building constructions of the Colleges under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission
Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the needs and arranging priority the needs for
competency development of the administrators and teachers who are the committees of official
fixed price determination for building constructions of educational institutes belong to the
Vocational Education Commission. The samples in this study were 272 administrators and teachers.
The instrument in this research consisted of the needs assessment questionnaire concerning
competency development. Percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used for data analysis.
Furthermore, the needs of competency development were analyzed by using the Modified Priority
Need Index (PNI Modified)
The results of this study revealed that the administrators and teachers have the needs
competency development from high to low as follows:
1. The knowledge domain, the study found that administrators and teachers need to
develop competency development in the aspects of the division of work, payment, and time
period of construction, the aspect of expense on the construction work (the Factor F) used for
calculation to determine the reference prices for construction, and the aspect of the material used
for studying of the plan according to determine the reference prices for construction(PNI Modified = 0.75, 0.63 and 0.47), respectively.
2. The skills domain, the study found that the administrators and teachers needs to develop
competency in the aspects of the division of work payment, and time period at constructions, the
aspect of rules for the quantity calculator of materials for constructions in term of structures, and
the aspect of the standard of work load measurement used for studying of the plan in order to
calculate the quantity of materials (PNI Modified = 0.77, 0.45 and 0.43), respectively.
