Abstract:
The study aims to investigate the needs of two communities towards
educational and social services provided by King Mongkuts University of Technology
North Bangkok. The outcomes reveal specific requirements coupled with problematic
issues, shedding some useful light on the implementation of a wide array of expertise
for the utmost benefits of both communities. Furthermore, the process realization would
enable the University to operate in accordance with the 2010 educational standards
delineated by the Committee of Higher Education Internal Quality Assurance.
The study is a survey research design using a questionnaire for exploring the
needs of the target population. The sample population include 74 residents in Bangsue
district and 87 inhabitants from a community in Prachinburi province. Data analysis
including frequency and percentage exploration were conducted via SPSS program.
On the whole, the academic service requirements regarding support on
training, discussion and lecturing aspects are discovered in the greatest level, followed
by the needs for guidance on research work e.g. survey, analysis, testing as well as
college and career consulting services. On the other hand, resident needs in relation to
services on curriculum and IT issues, in conjunction with the assistance in academic
writing and translation are uncovered to the least extent. In general, overall need
sequences are relatively in resemblance to those found in the two communities explored
in the study.
