Abstract:
The waste management is one of the considerable problem in Thailand. Hospitals and all health care centers also carry out various working processes which resulted in both toxic and non-toxic waste hence the responsibility for disposal of waste materials. Disposal method for waste materials has to be committed to protecting human health and the environment.
Storage Facilities are places where waste is held until it can be treated or disposed of, and are crucial in the disposal process. Hence, the suitable waste management equipment, guideline and regulation must be complied.
The study of waste storage guidelines and regulation in government hospital.
Aims to set up a guideline, standard rule and regulation, that has never been done, for hospital storage facilities under the the Minister of Pubic Health. The study carried out by investigating research documents in all relating areas, for instance, waste management law in specification of construction, architecture of the storage environmental effect and gathering waste management information from government hospitals using quantity research. The result is analyzed whether the present waste management is sufficed. The waste storage guideline is then generated, rule and regulation is set up which enable hospitals to remodel their present storages or to the new one.
The study diverse problems in hospital waste manage management which should have urgent policy and practice improvement. Especially for practice improvement, the waste disposal should be more frequent in order to reduce the storage area, minimizes their impact on environment, the spread of bacteria, order problems and less pollution which correspond to the waste storage rules and regulation
