A Study of Administrators Leader Characteristics as the Administrators and Teachers Opinions under the Jurisdiction of Vocational Education Institutes in the Northeast, Region 7.
Abstract:
The research intended to study the administrators leader characteristics as the administrators and teachers opinions under the jurisdiction of Vocational Education Institutes in the Northeast; Region 7 separated into the occupational characteristics and self-conducted characteristics. The sample groups were 350 administrators and teachers consisting of 59 administrators and 291 teachers under the jurisdiction of the Vocational Education Institutes in the Northeast Region 7 in the Year 2007. The instrument used in this research was the five-rating questionnaire developed by the researcher on the administrators leader characteristics with the 0.96 reliability value. The statistical data analyzing techniques used were computing the percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The research results revealed that :
1. The administrators under the jurisdiction of the Vocational Education Institutes in the Northeast; Region 7 had the leader characteristics in the whole image in the high level in two dimensions including vocational leader characteristics and the self-conducted leader characteristics.
2. The administrators under the jurisdiction of the Vocational Education Institutes in the Northeast, Region 7 had the vocational leader characteristics in the whole image in the high level. When taking consideration into sub-characteristics, every characteristic contained the high operational level which the knowledge and understanding about the vocation were at the highest mean. The second rank was the knowledge on the information technology and systematically procedural working and fully cycled evaluation respectively.
3. The administrators under the jurisdiction of the Vocational Education Institutes in the Northeast, Region 7 had the self-conducted leader characteristics in the whole image in the high level. When taking consideration into sub-characteristics, every characteristic contained the high operational level which the human relationship characteristics and continual self-development were at the highest mean. The second rank was the capability in communication.
