Factor related to parental childrearing behaviors of preschool children in Bangkok

Abstract: This descriptive correlation research was designed to examine: 1) parental expectations on physical, emotional, educational, social and moral characteristic of their children; 2.) the relationships between parental expectations, parental age, education level, family income, and parental childrearing behaviors for preschool children in Bangkok Metropolitan. The sample consisted of 233 parents whose 3-6 years old children were attending kindergarten schools in Bangkok Metropolitan. The instruments included three questionnaires on general characteristics of the parents and family, the parental expectation of childrearing questionnaire and the parental childrearing behaviors questionnaire. The study’s results showed that parental age, education level, family income and parental expectation were not related to parental childrearing behaviors (p>.05). When the Pearson’s correlation analysis was used to examine each category of parental expectation, it was found that only parental expectation on education was positively related to the parental childrearing educational behaviors(r=.154, p<.05).

Abstract: การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย เพื่อศึกษาเกี่ยวกับ 1). ความคาดหวังของบิดา มารดาที่มีต่อบุตร ได้แก่ ดา้นร่างกาย ด้านอารมณ์ ด้านการศึกษา ดา้นสังคม และด้านจริยธรรม 2.) ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความคาดหวัง อายุ ระดับการศึกษา และรายได้ของครอบครัวของบิดามารดา กับพฤติกรรมการเลี้ยงดูบุตรวัยก่อนเรียน อายุ 3-6 ปีในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นบิดา มารดา จำนวน 233 คน ที่มีบุตรอายุ 3-6 ปี และเรียนอยู่ในโรงเรียนอนุบาลในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร เครื่องมือวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไป ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับครอบครัวและบุตร แบบสอบถาม ความคาดหวังของบิดามารดาที่มีต่อลักษณะของบุตรที่พึงประสงค์ และแบบสอบถามพฤติกรรมการ เลี้ยงดูบุตรวัยก่อนเรียน ผลการศึกษาพบว่าอายุของบิดามารดา ระดับการศึกษา และรายได้ของครอบครัว และ ความคาดหวังของบิดามารดาไม่มีความสัมพันธ์ต่อพฤติกรรมการเลี้ยงดูบุตรทางสถิติที่ระดับ นัยสำคัญ.05 แต่เมื่อใช้การวิเคราะห์โดยใช้สถิติสหสัมพันธ์เพียร์สัน พบว่ามีแต่เพียงความคาดหวัง ของบิดามารดาด้านการศึกษาที่มีต่อบุตรมีความสัมพันธ์ต่อพฤติกรรมการเลี้ยงดูบุตรด้านการศึกษา อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ (r=.154, p<.05).
