Abstract:
This study was survey research. The purpose of this study was to study the
relationship between individual factors, job satisfaction, role perception, and role
performance of school nurses. The data were collected from 70 school nurses who
were working in high schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission,
Ministry of Education, Thailand. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and
inferential statistics.
Results of this study showed that the majority of school nurses were
moderately satisfied with their work, but their motivation factors and role perception
were high. Individual factors significantly related to role performance were level of
education and experience as school nurses. Role perception has a significant positive
relationship to role performance of school nurses (p < 0.01).
This study has suggestions including clarifying the role performance of
school nurses, according to their responsibilities, work team, and amount of work.
Role performance of school nurses should be consistent with their work and this study
suggests the development of advanced practice in school health nursing, and
identifying ways to increase the body of knowledge about motivate health and
educational sectors to should help school nurses to work according to their roles and
duties more efficiently.
