Abstract:
This survey research aimed to measure the level of clients acceptance of
service at the Out Patient Department (OPD), and to analyze how strong demographic
characteristics, clients utilization of healthcare service, perception of clients on
healthcare service provided by the Rajavithi Hospital had effects on clients
acceptance of standard and quality of care. A total of 400 patients who received care
service at OPD of Rajavithi Hospital from 1st September to 30th November 2006 were
the samples. Data were analyzed by using SPSS. Chi-square was used to test
relationships between variables.
Results showed that most clients (61.25%) had acceptance of service at
OPD, Rajavithi Hospital, at a moderate level whereas 23.00% of them had a low level
of acceptance. The test of relationships indicated that demographic characteristics
were not related to clients acceptance of service at OPD of the Rajavithi Hospital
(p > 0.05). For factors regarding clients utilization of healthcare service, it was found
that only perception on service and right for healthcare benefits were significantly
related to clients acceptance of service at OPD of the Rajavithi Hospital (p = 0.004
and 0.019 respectively). For factors regarding service provided by the Rajavithi
Hospital based on clients perception, it presented that neither cost of medicine nor
medical service were related to clients acceptance of service at OPD of the Rajavithi
Hospital (p > 0.05). It is recommended from the study that standards and quality of
healthcare service should be provided for all clients as prescribed in Chapter 5 and
Chapter 8 of the National Health Security Act, B.E. 2002.
