Parents' satisfaction with the pediatric intensive care unit services of Siriraj Hospital
Abstract:
This research has the purposes of: 1)studying the level of satisfaction of
parents and guardians of child patients with the services of Siriraj Hospital
2)studying the differences in the level of satisfaction classified under two factors, the
socio-demographic and hospital access and 3)studying the satisfaction from the point
of view of the service provider.
The target population used for this study was 70 parents of the patients in the
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Siriraj Hospital. The data was collected using
questionnaire and through in depth interviews. Statistics used for quantitative data
analysis were frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
The content analysis was used to analyze qualitative data.
The study shows that the sample parents have a high level of satisfaction
from service in regard to convenience, coordination, courtesy and attention of service
provider, information received, quality of service and expense for service. Parents
with different educational and financial backgrounds differ in the level of satisfaction.
The suggestion is that all concerned parties should cooperate to determine the
direction of treatment for keeping up the level of satisfaction; and at the same time try
to raise the level further
