The study of university badminton players quota admission project in Bangkok metropolis
Abstract:
This research studied the project conduct for university badminton players quota
admission and the development of the project in 8 universities, 4 public universities and
4 private ones. In the project, all of the players must have received the gold medals
from the National University Sports Competition. The samples were executives, team
managers, trainers, and badminton players of the project year 2005, totaling 111
respondents.
This research is descriptive research using interviews and questionnaires as the
research tool. The statistics in use were percentage distribution, means ( X ) , and
standard deviation (S.D.).
The research results found that the project conduct in public and private
universities is quite similar in terms of goals, procedures, and selection method. There
is motivation creation for sports and study as well as readiness and appropriateness in
the promotion program. The difference is only in the details, due to different rules and
regulations. The project conduct can achieve most of the goals of the university. For
problems and obstacles of project conduct, it was found that there is no coordination
among relevant parties. The problems found in the project students are with study,
followed with development of their sports capability. These two problems are
interrelated as the study problem holds the project students from their training and thus
their sports capability is decreased.
The recommendation made by the researcher is that all relevant parties should
hold meetings for opinion exchange, duty determination, and guideline offering with the
same goal of national benefit.
