Mobile phone using behaviour of the agriculture households in Phuttamonthon district, Nakorn Pathom province
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to study mobile phone usage patterns in
agricultual households in the Phutthamonthon district, Nakorn Pathom province. The
researcher controlled and analysed data from 224 agriculture households by Using
SPSS in order to find mean, percentage, standard deviation and t-test.
The results of the research found that 190 households or 84.8 % of all the
households used mobile phone. Average monthly phone charge in households was 877
baht or 9.7 % of total monthly expenses. Mean of renewed mobile phone was 1.26
mobile phones. For the differences between independent variables and monthly
mobile phone charge, the researcher found that there were differences among family
members, the number of working members, the highest education of the family
members, land possession, travelling characteristics of the family members,
agricultural income, household expenses and monthly mobile phone charge at the
significant level of .05. For the differences between the number of renewed mobile
phones, the researcher found that there were differences among the highest education
of the family members, agricultural income, household expenses, household debts,
being members or taking the position in the community organisation and the number
of renewed mobile phones at the significant level of .05.
This research suggests that state agencies and the private sector should
provide agricultural households with various choices in communication tools. For
instance, extend the house telephone network and prepare variety of mobile phone
promotions. In addition, further investigation of the mobile phone usage in sub groups
is also necessary
