Abstract: The purposes of this study are to analyze, design and develop a Nosocomial Infections Database System on the client/server environment. The Hospital Infection Control Unit of Charoenkrungpracharuck Hospital was used as a case study for system development. The client/server architecture is a resource sharing system. The user interface and applications run on the client. The server handles the database management. The database design used in the research was the Relational Database Model with the Database Management System (DBMS) called Microsoft SQL Server. Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 was used for creating the application programming interfaces. The Nosocomial Infections Database System consistes of 3 main functions. The first is Login functions. The second is collecting nosocomial infections data function and the last is creating report function. The study found that this system can fulfill the users’ requirements, the application interface is designed for friendly use and the response time of this system is satisfying. Finally, further development of extension functions and transfer into Web application are recommended for future work.

Abstract: การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อวิเคราะห์ ออกแบบ และพัฒนาระบบฐานข้อมูลโรคติดเชื้อ ในโรงพยาบาล บนสภาวะแวดล้อมแบบไคลแอนท์เซิร์ฟเวอร์ โดยมีหน่วยงานควบคุมโรคติดเชื้อ ของโรงพยาลเจริญกรุงประชารักษ์ เป็นกรณีศึกษา สถาปัตยกรรมแบบไคลแอนท์เซิร์ฟเวอร์ เป็นการแบ่งปันทรัพยากรภายในระบบ โดยไคลแอนท์ทำหน้าที่จัดการในส่วนของหน้าจอ การติดต่อกับผู้ใช้ ส่วนเซิร์ฟเวอร์จัดการในส่วนของการจัดการฐานข้อมูล ฐานข้อมูลออกแบบตามแบบฐานข้อมูลเชิงสัมพันธ์ (Relational Database Model) โดยใช้ Microsoft SQL Server 2000 เป็นตัวจัดการฐานข้อมูล และใช้ Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 เป็นเครื่องมือสำหรับพัฒนาโปรแกรมส่วนที่ติดต่อกับผู้ใช้ระบบฐานข้อมูลโรคติดเชื้อใน โรงพยาบาลประกอบด้วย 3 ส่วนหลักได้แก่ ส่วนของการตรวจสอบผู้ใช้ การเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล เกี่ยวกับ การติดเชื้อที่เกิดขึ้นในโรงพยาบาล และการจัดทำรายงาน ผลการทดสอบพบว่าระบบสามารถตอบสนองการใช้งานได้ตามที่กำหนด หน้าจอส่วนที่ติดต่อ กับผู้ใช้ง่ายต่อการใช้งาน และประมวลผลได้ค่อนข้างรวดเร็ว สำหรับข้อเสนอแนะในการวิจัย ในอนาคตคือการพัฒนาระบบอื่นๆ เพิ่มเติมและการพัฒนาให้เป็นระบบเว็บแอพพลิเคชั่นในอนาคต
