Development of a computer program for energy consumption analysis of air conditioning systems and lighting systems in building
Abstract:
The objective of this research was to analyze, design and develop a
computer program for energy consumption analysis of air conditioning and lighting
systems in buildings with reference to the analytical procedure in the Energy
Conservation Act., 1992. This program can enhance the working potential on energy
consumption audits and analysis as well as prepare reports to be more effective,
convenient, and accurate, even saving work time for officials.
The database was designed by using Microsoft Access 2000 as the
Database Management System (DBMS). Visual Basic 6.0 was used to develop this
program. The computer program for energy consumption analysis of air conditioning
and lighting systems in the building was divided into 4 major processes: input data ,
show result, energy conservation and reporting processes.
In testing the program it was found that it was able to support all of the
objectives and cover the proposed scope. The evaluation of the computer program for
energy consumption analysis of air conditioning and lighting systems in buildings
found that 14.00% of the users were satisfied at the highest level, 79.00% of the
users were satisfied at a high level, 7.00% of the users were satisfied at a moderate
level.
