Satisfaction of female police officers in task performance : a case study of Metropolitan Police Divisions 7-8-9
Abstract:
This thesis investigated the levels of satisfaction and factors affecting the task
performance of female police officers under the supervision of Metropolitan Police
Divisions 7-8-9.
A total of used 159 female police noncommissioned and commissioned
officers were samples. A questionnaire was the instrument in data collection, and the
statistical applications used were percentage, means, standard deviation, ANOVA
(Analysis of Variance), and MCA (Multiple Classification Analysis).
It was found in general, that in each area those female police officers who had
a high education and a good relationship with commandants had higher levels of
satisfaction in task performance, advancement in career and income than those with a
lower education or relationship with their commandants.
Moreover, the factors of work experience, career advancement, career
security, work environment, welfare, work safety, and training definitely affected the
satisfaction of task performance and career advancement of the female police officers
under supervision of Metropolitan Police Divisions 7-8-9.
It is recommended that the Royal Thai Police Bureau, particularly
Metropolitan Police Division 7-8-9. Should encourage and support female police
officers opportunities to accumulate a higher education and better knowledge.
Remuneration and allowances should be revised for the noncommissioned and
commissioned female police officers with a rank of lower than sub lieutenant based on
the relevancy of different tasks and the nature of task appointed. The classification of
salary and promotions should be more appropriate and fair. Training to gain a better
knowledge should be organized for the more capable workers. Activities should be
organized to enhance a better relationship among police and adequate welfare should
be provided.
