Factors related to exercise behavior of youth in the Youth Centers of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study: [1] exercise behavior of Thai youths, [2] factors related to exercise behavior and [3] predicted factors in exercise behavior. 213 males and 187 females who were members of the youth centers of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, ages between 14 to 24, were interviewed. The questionnaires were designed and collected by the researcher. Statistical analysis was carried out using the percentage, means, standard deviation, Pearsons Product moment correlation coefficient and Stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results showed that 1. The exercise behavior level of the samplings were good. 2. There were positive correlations between exercise behavior and relevant factors, including socialization support, benefits of exercise, attitude to exercise, the exercise/sports management of youth centers, and sex with statistical significance at 0.01 level. 3. Socialization support, attitude to exercise and benefits of exercise had 25 percent co-predicted capability for exercise behavior of the youths in the youth centers of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration with statistical significance at 0.05 level.The study suggests that the utilization of variables such as: socialization
support, benefit from exercise, attitude toward exercise, the exercise / sports management of youth centers and gender could improve or affect good exercise behavior of the youth."
