Abstract: วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและเปรียบเทียบภาษาเวียดนามที่พูดที่หมู่บ้านนาจอก ตำบลหนองญาติ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครพนม และภาษาเวียดนามถิ่นต่างๆในประเทศไทย รวมถึงภาษาเวียดนามถิ่นอื่น ๆ ที่พูดในประเทศเวียดนาม โดยใช้ทฤษฎีแทกมีมิค(Tagmemic) ในการวิเคราะห์ระบบเสียงภาษาเวียดนามที่พูดที่บ้านนาจอกแล้วเปรียบเทียบความเหมือนหรือและความต่างระหว่างภาษาเวียดนามถิ่นต่าง ๆ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ระบบเสียงภาษาเวียดนามที่พูดที่บ้านนาจอกมีหน่วยเสียงพยัญชนะทั้งหมดมี 24 หน่วยเสียง ได้แก่ /ph, b,t, (...), th, d, c, k, x, (...), (...), n, (...), (...), r, v, s, (...), z, (...),h, j, l, w / หน่วยเสียงสระเดี่ยว 11 หน่วยเสียงได้แก่ /i, e, (+,e), (...), (+,L),(...), a, a:, u, o, (...) / หน่วยเสียงสระประสม 3 หน่วยเสียง ได้แก่ /i(...), (...)(...), u(...)/ และวรรณยุกต์ 5 หน่วยเสียง ได้แก่ (1) วรรณยุกต์สูงระดับ /44/ (2) วรรณยุกต์กลาง-ต่ำ /31/ (3)วรรณยุกต์กลาง ต่ำ-ขึ้น /324/ (4) วรรณยุกต์สูง-ขึ้น /45/(5) วรรณยุกต์ต่ำระดับกักที่เส้นเสียง (ตอนปลาย) /21('(...))/, พยางค์แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ชนิดคือ พยางค์ปิดและพยางค์เปิด และทำนองเสียงมี 4 ลักษณะคือ ทำนองเสียงขึ้น, ทำนองเสียงตก,ทำนองเสียงขึ้น-ตกและทำนองเสียงตกขึ้น โครงสร้างพยางค์มีสองประเภท คือ พยางค์ปิด และพยางค์เปิด โครงสร้างพยางค์แบ่งเป็น คำพยางค์เดียวและคำสองพยางค์ ส่วนคำสามพยางค์ พบน้อยมาก ภาษาเวียดนามถิ่นต่าง ๆ ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันทางด้านโครงสร้างคำและพยางค์แต่มีความแตกต่างทางด้านเสียงพยัญชนะและเสียงวรรณยุกต์รวมทั้งคำศัพท์ อย่างไรก็ตามจากการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบพบว่าภาษาเวียดนามถิ่นนาจอกมีความคล้ายคลึงกับภาษาเวียดนามที่พูดที่ชุมชนวัดศรีเทพประดิษธารามและภาษาเวียดนามถิ่นไซ่ง่อนมากกว่าภาษาเวียดนามถิ่นอื่น ๆ

Abstract: The objective of this work is to study Najok Vietnamese phonology and tocompare with other Vietnamese dialects spoken in Thailand and Vietnam. A Tagmemicframework is used for analyzing the phonological system of the Najok dialect. Thenthe similarities and the differences of those dialects are presented. The result of the study indicates on the phonemic level that there are 24consonant phonemes in Najok Vietnamese /ph, b, t, (...), th, d, c, k, x, (...), m, n,(...), (...), r, v, s, (...), z, (...), h, j, l, w / all occurring in the initialposition except /w/. The 10 consonant phonemes / b, t, c, k, m, n, (...), (...), j,w / occur in the final position. There are 11 single vowels /i, e, (+,e), (...),(+,L), (...), a, a:, u, o, (...)/ and 3 diphthongs /i(...), (...)(...), u(...)/. InVietnamese, the vowel length is not significant except for the vowels /a/ and /a:/.There are five contrastive tones : /1/ High level (44) /2/ Mid- falling (31) / 3/ Midfalling-rising (324) /4/ High-rising (45) /5/ Low- falling with final glottalization(21('(...))). There are two types of syllable : the open syllable and the closedsyllable. There are two main types of phonological words: monosyllable and disyllable. Trisyllable is very rare. There are four types of intonation : rising contour, falling contour, rising-falling contour and falling-rising contour. The Vietnamese dialects have similarities in their word and syllable structure.Still, there are some differences between Najok dialect and other Vietnamese dialectsspoken in Thailand and in Vietnam in their consonants, tones and some vocabularyusage. Therefore, in case of a dialect comparison, Najok more similar toChumchonwatsritheppradittharam and Saigon dialects more than other dialects.
