Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to study needs for self-development of Tumbon level public health officers in Ratchaburi province. The study group comprised 235 public health officers who had been working at Tumbon level in Ratchaburi province. The data were collected by questionnaires constructed from the literature review. All questionnaires were returned for analysis in items of frequency,
percentage, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Post Hoc Comparison by Scheffe. The composition of study group was as follows : female (58.7 %) , aged 31 - 40 years (34.9 %), married (65.5 %), holding a bachelor degree (61.7 %), health center personnel ( 45.5 %) and experience in work 11 - 20 years (37.0 %). It was found that Tumbon level public health officers of needs for self-development at a medium level. Needs for self-development differed accounting to sex, age, education level and attitude performance in role. Other factors were not related. This research suggests that further study of professional development needs should be undertaken. Training courses should be developed to improve work efficiency and performance. Finally, research should focus on self-development patterns.
