Factors Affecting Parents' Choice of the Adventist International Mission School (AIMS) in Muak Lek, Saraburi Thailand
Abstract:
The purpose fo this study is to unearth some of the factors affecting parents' decision to enroll their children at Adventist International Mission School (AIMS), Muak Lek, Saraburi, Thailand. Aquestionnaire with open-ended and structured questions was used to collect data. The study found that some factors affected both Christian and non-Christian parents. These factors were medium of instruction, proximity, effective learning, academic program, emphasis on values and spirituality. The findings of this study differ from other studies done elsewhere in terms of how the school's medium of instruction affects parents, particularly the Thai parents. Even though the majority of them are not Christians, the Buddhist parents enroll their children at AIMS so that they will acquire the language. In addition, many of them have positive impression about Christianity and consider Christian influence to be good on their children's character development.
