Abstract:
The research on the roles of advertising in the new product launch, for the case of Thai Petrochemical Industry Co.,Ltd. (TPI) cement was geared to study :-
1. The benefits and importance of advertising on the new product launch.
2. The roles of advertising that influences upon TPI brand purchase.
3. Media exposure of consumers that affect the purchase decision on TPI cement.
4. Advertising selling point of PTI cement that affects the consumer awareness and brand trial.
5. Purchase factors of TPI cement.
This study was conducted by using the surveying technique on 273 samples, who work in the field of construction. Examples of respondent were foremen, sub-constructors, masons, employees and project owners, etc. who were working in Bangkok metropolitan and surrounding provincial areas. Questionnaires were used as a data accumulation method. Method of percentages was utilized in analyzing the data in order to give explanation on general attributes of the sample, behavior of media exposure including awareness and trial of TPI cement. Chi-square statistical method was applied to find out the relationship among variables in the established hypothesis. All data achieved from the method mentioned above were then compiled by SPSS computerized program.
The research result were as follows :
1. Exposure the T.V. commercial was not related to TPI brand awareness and trial, which could not verify the first hypothesis. On the other way, it can be explained that awareness and trial on TPI cement of each respondent did not depend on TPI T.V. commercial.
2. TPI advertising affected TPI brand selection of the sampling group, which corresponded to the second hypothesis.
3. The exposure of TPI T.V. commercial was related to buying factors, Particularly in the factors If product quality and advertising. Which corresponded to the third hypothesis.
4. In terms of the exposure to TPI advertising of sample, they mostly expose to television, followed by billboard and newspaper respectively.
5. After receiving TPI advertising message, it was found that their of TPI cement slightly increased.
