Development of Geo-informatics data distribution and management system by source software : A case study at Bang phra subdistrict, Sriracha district, Chon buri province
Abstract:
This research aims to develop a system, from open-source software, to manage Geo-informatics database of Bang Phra Subdistrict, because people from both state and private agencies are able to access the data any time. In addition, publicity via internet is an efficient, fast, and low-cost public relation. The development process consists of data collection,system implementation, system design and development. The geographic data were obtained from both SPT5 images (2.5 x 2.5 m2 resolution) and field work using GPS. Principal tools used for system development were PHP as a script language, Apache for Web Server and Windows as an operating system. The data structure consisted of 1) index file (index.php) 2) map file (bangpra.map) 3) configuration file (CONFIGURATION.PHP) 4) map library file (MAPLIB.PHP) 5) query result file (QUERYRESULT.PHP) และ 6) toolbar file (TOOLBAR.PHP).The system was tested and evaluated by interviewing Bang Phra Municipal District administrators and people. The result revealed that the system developed from open source software could work as well as copyright system, and most users were satisfied with the system which helped to promote Bang Phra efficiently at a low cost.
