Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to investigate information services and problems of these services, as well as the collect general data of entrepreneurs in Bangpoo Industrial Estate. The sample consisted of company administrators and the staffs who were in charge of information services in libraries or information services of 241 companies in Bangpoo Industrial Estate. A set of questionnaires was used for collecting data. Frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used to analyze data.The findings were as follows:1. There were 241 entrepreneurs in the Bangpoo Industrial Estate in Samutprakarn Province. Most of them, 112 companies were classified as the fifty-type category of industry : electronics and electrical appliances, 56 entrepreneurs were in the foruth-type category of industry : metal products, machines, transportation equipment, and 24 entrepreneurs were in second-type category of industry:mining ceramics and basic metalwork, respectively. As classified by size, 132 entrepreneurs were in medium size : 83 entrepreneurs were in large size : and 26 entrepreneurs were in small size.2. Thirty-two entrepreneurs in the Bangpoo Industrial Estate in Samutprakarn Province were found of having library or information services the compnany. Only 4 entrepreneurs were supported an annual budget of 20,000-50.000 Bahts. The staffs, in charge of libraries or information services were mostly personnel officers. The classification system of information resources were mainly by general subject contents. Most users were internal staffs. Outsiders were not allowed to use the services.3. Most libraries had only printed materials such as books (101-200 volumes), periodicals (1-3 titles), and newspapers (1-3 titles) in Thai language. Foreign language information resources, seminar reports, organization publications, audio-visual media, and electronic media were not available in most of them.4. Problems of information services mostly were ; executives did not support and overlook the acquistion of information resources, the budget gained were not enough, technology equipments were out of date and insufficien, and users did not realize the importance and value of libraries and information services, respectively.
