Abstract: วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อรวบรวมคำศัพท์วิชาการและนิยามศัพท์สาขาบรรณารักษศาสตร์และสารสนเทศศาสตร์ทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาต่างประเทศจากบทความวารสาร หนังสือรวมคำศัพท์ พจนานุกรม และสื่ออิเล็กทรอนิกส์ต่างๆ ให้อยู่ในรูปแบบฐานข้อมูล และเพื่อศึกษาและพัฒนาฐานข้อมูลนิยามคำศัพท์วิชาการสาขาบรรณารักษศาสตร์และสารสนเทศศาสตร์ตลอดจนเพื่อทดสอบและประเมินฐานข้อมูลที่พัฒนาขึ้น กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ประกอบด้วย นิสิต นักศึกษา และบรรณารักษ์ รวมทั้งสิ้น 34 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลได้แก่ แบบทดสอบและประเมินฐานข้อมูล แบบมาตราส่วนประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานฐานข้อมูลนิยามคำศัพท์วิชาการสาขาบรรณารักษศาสตร์และสารสนเทศศาสตร์พัฒนาขึ้นโดยใช้โปรแกรมจัดการฐานข้อมูลไมโครซอฟต์แอกเซส 2000 (Microsoft Access 2000) ซึ่งฐานข้อมูลที่พัฒนาขึ้นมีความสามารถในด้าน การบันทึก แก้ไขข้อมูล การสืบค้นข้อมูลจาก คำศัพท์ภาษาไทยและคำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษ กลวิธีการสืบค้นแบบง่ายและแบบซับซ้อน แสดงผลและพิมพ์รายงานรูปแบบต่างๆ ได้ทั้งทางจอภาพและเครื่องพิมพ์ อีกทั้งมีระบบการป้องกันความปลอดภัยของข้อมูลโดยใช้รหัสผ่าน นอกจากนี้ฐานข้อมูลมีการติดต่อกับผู้ใช้งานแบบสวิตช์บอร์ด (Switchboard)ผลการวิจัยพบว่าผู้ทดสอบและประเมินผลมีระดับความพึงพอใจในระดับมากต่อฐานข้อมูลที่พัฒนาขึ้นทั้ง 4 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านโปรแกรมและการเข้าสู่ระบบ ด้านเนื้อหาคำศัพท์และนิยามศัพท์ ด้านสืบค้น และด้านการติดต่อกับผู้ใช้ โดยมีข้อเสนอแนะให้ฐานข้อมูลดังกล่าวสามารถสืบค้นผ่านเครือข่ายอินเทอร์เน็ต ควรปรับปรุงฐานข้อมูลให้ดึงดูดความสนใจมากยิ่งขึ้น ควรมีการปรับปรุงคำศัพท์ให้ทันสมัยอยู่ตลอดเวลา และควรมีการสนับสนุนการใช้ฐานข้อมูลให้แพร่หลายเพื่อเกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด

Abstract: The purposes of this study were to collect Library and Information Science Technical Terms from journal articles, text books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and electronic media; to develop the database of Library and Information Science Technical Terms; to test and evaluate the developed database. Thirty-four Library and Information Science graduate students and librarians were used as samples for the study a the evaluators of the developed database. The instrument employd in collecting the data was a set of five level rating scale questionnaires. The statistics used in analyzing the data were mean and standard deviation.The Library and Information Science Technical Terms database, was constructed by Microsoft Access 2000 application. The developed database was able to perform as follows; 1) add and edit data; 2) retrieve either Thai or English vocabulary from simple or advanced search; 3) show the results and print out the report in various formats both by monitor and printer; 4) protect the unauthorized access by using password; and 5) the user interface system was mainly in the switchboard format. The results of the database satisfaction by the evaluators revealed that the performance including the program and database access, vocabulary and glossary, searching operating, and user interface were found of being at a high level, with the suggestions that the database should be search via the Internet, more attractive, more updated vocabularies. Moreover, the database using promotion should be done broadly.
