Abstract:
The purpose of the research was to study factors predicting wee-being in Thalassemic children;s caregivers at home in the Eastern region. A multisstage random sampling method was used to recuit a 170 samples in this region. The research instrument consisted of Demographic form, Caregiving burden scale, Social support and questionnaire on Well-being of children's caregivers. The date were collected from April 22 to June 17, 2003. Stepwise multiple regression was employed to analyzed the data. The result of the study were as follows:1. The overall well-being of children's caregivers in the Eastern region was likely rated from the medium-high level when classified aspect by aspect, it revealed that the family structure was at the medium- level, the family role process was at the medium- level, and the family vulnerability was at the high-level.2. Social support and the violent of Thalassemic disease were the joint factors that in predicting the well-being of Thalassemic children's caregivers in the Eastern region, approximately 25.8%(R^2 =.258,p<.05).However, the well-being of Thalassemic children's caregivers could be tranformed in terms of formula as follows: The well-being of Thalassemic children's care givers = .484(Social support) - .174 (The violent level of Thalassemic disease).
