Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study job satisfaction and the factors affecting job satisfaction of teachers in private schools, Bangkok Metropolis. 1,091 copies of questionnaire were sent to teachers in large, middle and small private schools in Bangkok Metropolis, and 755 (71.04%) of them were returned. The data were analyzed by using SPSS version 11.0 for percentage, mean, Pearsons correlation coefficient (1-tailed) and stepwise multiple regression at the significant level of 0.05 ([alpha]=0.05)
The research findings were as follows:
1) The teachers from all sizes of the private school had job satisfaction . The highest level of job satisfaction in general, large and middle schools were in the nature of work. The lowest level of job satisfaction were in the operating conditions. The highest level of job satisfaction of small school was in the nature of work , while the lowest level of job satisfaction was in pay.
2) In general, the factors affecting job satisfaction of teachers in private schools, Bangkok Metropolis, in order of importance, were supervision, communication in schools, pay, operating conditions, coworkers and fringe benefits.
2.1 The factors affecting job satisfaction of teachers in large private schools, Bangkok Metropolis, in order of importance, were supervision, communication in schools and operating conditions.
2.2 The factors affecting job satisfaction of teachers in middle private schools, Bangkok Metropolis, in order of importance, were supervision and pay.
2.3 The factors affecting job satisfaction of teachers in small private schools, Bangkok Metropolis, in order of importance were communication in schools and supervision.
