Compartive cost analysis of nursing intervention and diagnosis related groups for HIV/AIDS based on symptom classification medical ward, Bamrasnarasura infectious diseases institute
Abstract:
The purposes of this descriptive research were to analyze the nursing activities cost during admission to discharge based on patient classification, Assist and to find out the comparative result between nursing activities cost on patient classification and diagnosis related group allocation of patient with HIV/AIDS at medical unit. Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute. Research samples consisted of 19 nursing staff, and 92 patients who admitted in medical care unit during data collecting time. The research instruments were critical of patient with HIV/AIDS classification checklist the activity definition of patient with HIV/AIDS classification, the nursing activities checklist item, and the expense collecting form of DRGs allocated of patients with HIV/AIDS. All instrument were tested for content validity and reliability.
The major results of this study were as follows:
1. The highest average unit cost of nursing activities based on patient with HIV/AIDS classification was the patients with HIV/AIDS in category C3, which is 12,015.24 Baht. patients in category C2, of 7,470.69 Baht. and patients with HIV/AIDS in category B3, of 6,647.50 Baht.
2. The highest average unit cost of nursing activities based on type of activities nursing care of HIV/AIDS in category C3, which is 5,853.02 Baht. patients with HIV/AIDS in category C2, of 3,548.77 Baht. And patients with HIV/AIDS in category B3, of 3,248.38 Baht.
3. The hightest of the proportion unit cost of nursing activities and the diagnosis related group allocation of patient with HIV/AIDS is 264.89 percent of the patient with HIV/AIDS having length of stay 23 days.
4. The hightest of the proportion unit cost of nursing activities and the diagnosis related group allocation of patient with HIV/AIDS 1 RW of Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute is 93.44.
