Abstract:
Working-age group is the earning age for yourself and shelter to family. If they have health problem and incomplete health behavior, they will impact to quality of life and family. The objective of this study described about health status, health behavior and factors related to working-age group 13-59 years old in central region of Thailand. Data collection was done during 1 August-31 December 1997 by interviews and physical exam with 952 cases. The results showed that most of them were females (69.9%). Age group average was 33 years old and they studied prathom 4(34.8%). Most of income were less than 3,000 baht per month, income average was 4,500 baht per month and occupation were merchant and agricultural (16.6%). Prevalence of illness was 44 percent, exercise was 53.9 percent, cigarette smoking was 14.1 percent and alcohol drinking was 28.3 percent. The factors related to health status : age, marital status and education (p<0.005), exercise : sex, age, marital status and education (p<0.005), cigarette smoking : sex, age and marital status (p<0.01), working status (p<0.05) and occupation (p<0.001), alcohol drinking : sex, age, education, working status (p<0.05) and occupation (p<0.001) and body mass index : sex, age, marital status and education (p<0.005) and working status (p<0.05). Results of this study should be useful for organization to developing human plan and improving organization associated with true problems.
