Abstract:
The purposes of this experimental research were to study of the effect of basic Buddhist meditation and meditation music on sleep quality among elderly. Sample were 56 elders in wadsanawead home. The subject were sampled assigned to 3 experimental group and control group, 14 in each group. The experimental group 1 received the meditation and meditation music, group 2 received the meditation music and group 3 received the meditation. The research instruments were Thai General Health Question and Quality of sleep with developed from the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation ANCOVA and repeated ANOVA The finding of this study were as follows: 1. The quality of sleep in elders after received the mediation and meditation music was signification higher than control group at the 0.05 level. 2. The quality of sleep in elders after received meditation music was signification higher than control group at the 0.05 level. 3. The quality of sleep in elders after received the meditation was signification higher than control group at the 0.05 level. 4. The quality of sleep in elders control group wasnt signification higher than before experiment at the 0.05 level. In conclusion, meditation and meditation music, meditation music, meditation could be used for promoting sleep quality in the elderly.""
